As we move towards a new era of Butterfly Bridal, we hope you will find these FAQs & detailed information of some help:
All of our gowns are now available to purchase off the rail only
- Please note that bridal sizing is different to when you purchase clothing on the high-street and you typically have to go up at least 1 – 2 dress sizes, 99% of gowns require tailoring to ensure a perfect fit and length. Ahead of booking an appointment or purchasing online please get in touch if you have any questions regarding gown sizes and we will do our best to advise you. Your bridal stylist will be able to best advise you during your appointment.
- With our experienced and skilled seamstresses, a gown can be down-sized by 2 – 4 dress sizes. Any questions at all regarding this please get in touch.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve gowns. Full payment is required in order to remove your dream dress from the rail. We do offer an insured storage option, this is currently chargeable @ £25 per month.
- As standard, when you purchase your dream dress at Butterfly Bridal you will be provided with our recommended seamstress information to ensure that your gown will be tailored to a perfect fit and length. If appropriate, your bridal stylist may personally recommend a particular seamstress.
- Please allow £250 - £500 for standard alterations (this includes shortening the front hem as well as bodice, straps/sleeves).
- We have your dream dress but you do not live locally? Worry not – we offer a fully insured courier service, the cost for this is typically £75 - £150 depending on gown weight.
- We take very good care of our gowns (blame Rach, she is a perfectionist!) however on occasion it is inevitable that a small make-up mark or imperfection may be present. We will always notify you of this at the time of purchase and do offer a recommended dry-cleaning service.
Should I book an appointment?
Absolutely, the boutique is open by appointment only so it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate an on the day appointment. Our by-appointment-only system ensures that we can provide our Brides with the best possible customer service experience and that you have your very own personal Butterfly Bridal stylist to advise & assist you in choosing your dream dress. It is a once in a lifetime dress that you’re purchasing so we want you to feel special and have a fun & memorable experience.
What is a pre-appointment call?
This is a telephone call between yourself and a Butterfly Bridal stylist prior to your bridal consultation at the boutique. It is your opportunity to ask any questions you may have with regards to our gown collection, the process of choosing and purchasing your dream dress and anything you wish to know about the boutique. It will help us get to know you a little ahead of your bridal consultation, help us gain an understanding of your style and the plans for your wedding as well as maximise your appointment time with us.
What are your opening hours?
Our current opening days are Monday - Saturday. We are occasionally able to offer late afternoon/evening appointments with notice and upon request. Please note, our Saturday appointments are extremely limited and we advise getting in touch several weeks in advance if you have a particular date you are wishing to attend.
How much does an appointment cost?
All appointments carry an appointment fee, please see our "Book an appointment" page. This fee is payable at the time of booking your appointment.
Who should I bring with me to my appointment?
We advise attending your appointment with 1 or 2 people whose opinion you 100% trust , who will be honest and support you. We are able to accommodate a maximum of 3 guests at your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
In an ideal world, neutral underwear and a strapless bra, but this is not essential. Please bring shoes if you have a pair that are comfortable and the heel height you are intending to wear on your special day.

How long is a bridal consultation at Butterfly Bridal Boutique?
Weekday bridal consultations are up to 2 hours, evening and weekend appointments are 1.5 hours.
What happens if I intend to lose weight?
This is something we will discuss at your consultation once you have chosen your dream dress. Our recommended seamstresses advise a dress can be drawn-down by approximately 2 dress sizes – on some occasions more. Your bridal stylist will be able to advise on this during your appointment.
Do you hire dresses?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer a hire service.
Do you buy pre-loved dresses?
Unfortunately this is not a service we offer.
